Our team is busy gearing up for another year of insightful events at the fast approaching SIWI World Water Week. This year’s theme is Bridging Borders: Water for a Peaceful and Sustainable Future challenging us all to recognise the regional and global interconnectivity of communities and nations. We will be bringing our innovative financing and water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH) expertise to the discussions by hosting and taking part in a series of sessions. In this talkshow we will be following the journey of social innovators who are investing in WASH SMEs in India and Africa and hear stories of juggling risks, navigating through imperfect ecosystems and bullet-proofing new strategies to structure investments for impactful, sustainable financing for SDG6.

In this workshop we will be delving into how to attract private investment to the WASH sector in developing markets. Learn from Global South pioneers, assess investment risks, explore SME ecosystems, and craft strategies for structuring sustainable investments to achieve SDG6. This event will be hosted by our Take-a-Stake team who will be joined by representatives from the UNICEF Innovation Hub, Cardano, Yunus Social Business, The Sanitation and Hygiene Fund, Banka Bio and our FINISH Mondial programme.

Invitation only: Transformative roundtable discussion on driving sustainable WASH investments in Africa

According to the UN’s 2023 Africa Sustainable Report over 60% of Africa’s population lacks access to basic sanitation services. Closing the financing gap is critical to overcoming this challenge, ensuring clean water and sanitation for all. Drawing on 16 years of experience working across four African countries, our FINISH Mondial team (India, Kenya and The Netherlands) will discuss and explore collectively with key African stakeholders how to effectively collaborate and mobilise private sector investment to ensure sustainable WASH financing. This roundtable will be hosted together with our partner Cardano and the Take-a-Stake team from WASTE.
