We are delighted to be taking part in another SIWI World Water Week. This year’s theme is Seeds of Change: Innovative Solutions for a Water-Wise World inviting us all to rethink how we manage water. We will be bringing our innovative financing and WASH expertise to the discussions by hosting and taking part in a series of sessions. These will be on the 20th, 22nd, 23rd and 24th August. Live studio talk show: Unlocking financial sustainability of SMEs to achieve SDG6

SMEs are vital to the WASH supply chain and to achieve SDG6. Yet, they often lack access to funding. In this talk show we will dive into an entrepreneur’s journey towards creditworthiness and bankability, accompanied by experts in catalytic investment, to learn from their crusade testing innovative finance approaches and achieving sustainable financing for SDG6. Building a sustainable WASH service chain to unlock universal access starts locally. WASH could offer a sustainable financing opportunity to a wide range of funders, from microfinance to SMEs. With SMEs contributing to more than one third of the GDP and accounting for 75% of formal employment, they offer a real opportunity to investors looking for having role in the sustainability race. In a working style session, this meeting will gather key stakeholders together to discuss the opportunities, drivers and challenges to scale up from current investment levels to bridge the financial gap to universal access for water and sanitation.
