This design contest managed by WASTE in close cooperation with the Netherlands Red Cross is part of the Emergency Sanitation Project, which is being undertaken by a consortium of the International Federation of the Red Cross (IFRC), Oxfam GB and WASTE and is funded by the US Office of Foreign Disaster Assistance (OFDA). It aims to increase the global understanding of current and future emergency situations and to propose new concepts and modular technologies for safe excreta disposal in emergency settings that are applicable in a variety of situations. Experts in the field of emergency sanitation scored the applications. We now call upon the general public to vote for their favorite among 4 nominated entries. The voting closes Sunday 17 November at 12 pm GMT.
